DIRECTIONS
Wash the Swiss chard leaves and stems in cold water.
Tear the stems from the leaves and keep the two separated.
Chop the stems into 1/2-inch pieces and coarsely chop the leaves.
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the diced onion and cook for 3 minutes.
Mix in the shallots and red pepper flakes.
Stir the contents often until the shallots and onions are soft and translucent.
Add the chard stems, beans, and ground pepper to the skillet.
Cook, stirring occasionally, until the stems become soft, about 5 minutes.
Then stir in the chard leaves and cook until they are wilted.
Cover the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chard is tender. about 5 minutes.
Taste the mixture and season as needed with salt and pepper.
