Home Style Lasagna
16 oz Best Choice Lasagna
8 oz ground Italian sausage
8 oz ground beef
1 ½ tlbs fresh garlic, chopped
½ c yellow onion, diced
1 jar (26 oz) Best Choice spaghetti sauce
½ teas Best Choice salt
Best Choice black pepper to taste
1 tub (15oz) ricotta cheese
2 (8oz) packages Best Choice fancy shredded mozzarella cheese
¼ c Best Choice Parmesan cheese
2 Best Choice large eggs, beaten
Cook Lasagna according to package directions. Meanwhile in large pot, sauté Italian sausage, ground beef, garlic and onion. Drain off excess fat. Add spaghetti sauce, salt and pepper. Bring meat sauce to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes. In a large mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses with beaten egg. Mix until smooth. To build lasagna, layer 4 strips of Lasagna lengthwise, in a greased, 9”x13” baking dish. Spread on 1/3 of the meat sauce, and 1/3 of the cheese mixture. Repeat layering process twice. Bake lasagna, covered, in a preheated 350 degrees F oven for 30 minutes. Remove cover and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes. Slice and serve.
