Family Meals Month Idea – Quesadilla Party
Posted Sep 13th, 2015
Welcome to another week of Family Meals Month! Each Sunday in September, we’re sharing fun meal ideas for you enjoy with your family and friends. This week, we’re celebrating with a Quesadilla Party.
Here’s how it works:
Everyone’s been to a pizza party where you pick out your favorite slice of pizza to eat. Quesadilla parties are better, because each participant gets to create their own quesadilla with unique fillings!
First, designate someone to be the quesadilla cooker. This person will be in charge of melting each person’s quesadilla to ooey-gooey perfection. By designating one person, it makes for less clutter and mess in the kitchen.
Then, create a quesadilla ingredient bar for diners to choose their favorite fillings.
Ingredients can include:
- A variety of cheeses
- Black or pinto beans
- Spanish rice
Next, give each person a small plastic cup to stack in their ingredients for the quesadilla cooker. We recommend placing beans in first and your cheese selection last. This way, when the cooker pours out the cup, the cheese will land on the tortilla first and the beans won’t make the other ingredients soggy. Set your ingredient bar up in this way to ensure easy flow for stacking ingredients.
Finally, once each quesadilla is complete, provide a variety of dipping salsas and toppings like sour cream, guacamole and Southwestern Ranch. Don’t forget a side of tortilla chips and dip!
This meal makes a great #MeatlessMonday dinner or include shredded or grilled chicken, and cooked ground beef in the ingredient bar for some added protein.
As always, show us what your family’s quesadillas turns out to be: tag us in a photo on
Facebook, Twitter or Instagram and use the hashtag #FamilyMealsMonth. Feel free to share a selfie of your family also by tagging us and using the hashtag #RaiseYourMitt. We’ll randomly select participants to receive product packages, so that your next family meal is on us.
