Many pet parents choose a mix of both—using wet food for meals and dry food for nibbling throughout the day.

Around 12 months for dogs (and closer to 10–12 months for cats), it’s time to gradually transition them to an adult recipe that fits their size and activity level.
Making the switch the right way.
If you’re changing brands or moving from puppy/kitten food to adult food, take it slow! Start by mixing about 25% new food with 75% old food, then increase the ratio over 7–10 days. A gradual transition helps prevent tummy troubles and gives your pet time to adjust to the new taste and texture.
