DIRECTIONS
Preheat your oven to 350°F.
In a small bowl, add the softened cream cheese and taco seasoning. Whisk the contents or use a handheld mixer to combine the seasoning with the cream cheese.
In a small saucepan, add the can of refried beans and salsa. Warm the beans over medium heat and stir in the salsa.
Stir the contents until the beans are heated through and are easy to spread, about 5 minutes.
Transfer the bean mixture to a pie pan or 8×8 baking dish and spread it out to cover the bottom of the dish.
Top the beans with a layer of the seasoned cream cheese, followed by the shredded cheese.
Place the dish in the oven and bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.
Remove the dish from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.
Top the dish with shredded lettuce and tomatoes. Serve and enjoy immediately with tortilla chips.
Optional toppings: chopped black olives, jalapeños, red pepper, and green pepper.
