Usage Instructions
OVEN INSTRUCTIONS Preheat oven to 450F. In an ungreased 1 1/2-quart casserole, combine 2 1/4 cups boiling water, 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, 2/3 cup milk, potato sauce mix and potato slices. Bake uncovered for about 25 minutes*, or until top is light brown and potatoes are tender. Remove from oven (sauce will thicken upon standing). *Bake 5 minutes longer for a more golden brown top and softer potatoes. STOVETOP INSTRUCTIONS: In a 2-quart saucepan, combine 2 cups hot water, 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, 2/3 cup milk, potato sauce mix and potato slices. Heat over high heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until potatoes are tender and sauce is desired consistency (sauce will thicken as it stands). MICROWAVE INSTRUCTIONS In a 2-quart round microwaveable casserole or bowl, combine 2 3/4 cups hot water, 1 tablespoon margarine or butter, 1/3 cup milk, potato sauce mix and potato slices. Microwave uncovered on HIGH 10 to 15 minutes*, stirring every 5 minutes, until potatoes are tender. (Sauce will thicken and potatoes will continue to soften as they stand) CAUTION: BOWL WILL BE HOT. *Because microwaves cook differently, times are approximate.
