Recipe of the Month: Cheddar Snaps

Ingredients:

1 stick (1/2 cup) Best Choice butter

1 1/2 cups Best Choice all-purpose flour

2 cups Best Choice shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp Best Choice salt

1/2 tsp Best Choice paprika

2-3 dashes Best Choice hot pepper sauce

 

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, blend all ingredients together using a pastry blender or a mixer until dough forms. May also use a food processor.  On a floured cutting board or counter, roll dough into a 1-inch diameter log roll. Wrap in plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator until well chilled. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

With a sharp knife, cut dough into 1/8 in slices. Place slices on a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes (until they just begin to brown around the edges) at 400 degrees. Remove baked snaps to a cooling rack.  Store cooled snaps in an airtight container.
